Before Helmut Lang, husband and wife team Michael and Nicole Colovos founded Los Angeles based denim brand Habitual to much acclaim. The recipients of the first Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award for emerging designers, Nicole has a background as fashion editor at Harper's Bazaar and Michael worked for Guy Laroche in Paris before launching womenswear line, Colovos.
The Colovos' have crafted Hollywood's go-to everyday wardrobe, a collection of modern jersey, denim, leathers and relaxed shapes that can be mixed and matched with ease.
"We have a very similar aesthetic but from different viewpoints. I'm really into the construction of a design while she's more concerned about what it looks like on her body. Putting those two elements together is what makes us work so well together."
